On November 1st, 2013, Dark Blood was screened for the first time in New York City at IndieScreen in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Director George Sluizer attended the screening and afterwards participated in a Q&A session. The film showed on a small screen and the audience was enthusiastic. I was able to ask a question during the Q&A - regarding additional lost footage that had been discovered - and I got a chance to meet the director (at one point he asked me to give him a push in his wheelchair). While I had already seen Dark Blood a number of times by this point, it was gratifying to finally see it in a theater.
